There’s development happening in Uttara Kannada

But it’s not the kind that will benefit the people or protect Karnataka’s most forested district.

Commercial ports a few kilometres from each other. Plans to reroute the only Western Ghats river that’s not been dammed. A nuclear reactor contracted out to a private company.

There’s so much money and so little thought that’s going into each of them. Here’s hoping the people’s voices are heard and the home of lion tailed macaques is left as it is.
